Basketball Nova Scotia (BNS) is committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for the physical and mental well-being of every individual involved in the game of basketball in Nova Scotia. At the same time, BNS is also dedicated to creating a healthy, fun, accessible and inclusive environment in which athletes of all ages are able to live up to their full potential.

The following BNS policies work to safeguard the sport of basketball in Nova Scotia. They are intended to promote a safe environment in a manner that allows for consistent, immediate, appropriate, and meaningful action should any issues arise. They are also intended to prevent issues from arising in the first place by communicating expected standards of behaviour.
